Looking for an extra kick to your favorite meals? Consider cooking with CBD oil!

A growing number of people are cooking with CBD oil and using it in everything from savory soups to sweet desserts. If you’re unsure of how to use CBD in the kitchen, we have five simple tips to help get you started.

Use Fats

Because cannabinoids bind well with fat, CBD needs to be mixed in with fat and oil-based ingredients. This increases bioavailability and also allows you to receive the full benefits of the CBD oil. Common ingredients you can use include coconut oil, butter and ghee.

Stick With Sweet & Savory

CBD-infused sweets and baked treats are the most common items to find on sale. Sugar and chocolate can often overpower the hemp taste of CBD oil, but what if you prefer the hemp taste?

CBD oils can be used just as effectively in savory dishes like pizza and creamy soups. It also works great as an ingredient in salad dressing.

Avoid Heat

Extremely high temperatures can cause CBD oil to evaporate and lose potency. This typically starts happening at any temperature higher than 392°F (200°C). For hot dishes like pizza or eggs, consider drizzling the oil over your dish once its complete.

Stir Well

Using CBD requires a more vigorous stir than many common cooking oils. You want to ensure the oil is evenly distributed so there’s equal potency in each bite.

Start Out Small

We recommend starting with a small amount and increasing or decreasing the serving size as needed. Remember that less is more, especially when you’re new to using CBD in the kitchen.
