At Lazarus Naturals, we make effective, high-quality CBD that is affordable for all. We believe that CBD has a positive impact on quality of life. Our products are formulated to support specific aspects of your health, including pain management and recovery, sleep and relaxation, and stress relief.
From our topical creams and balms to our tinctures and softgels, each product is formulated using the latest scientific research and specific goals in mind. In this way, our products are similar to drugs. However, botanical-based ingredients like CBD and herbs are different from drugs.
Any prescription or over-the-counter drug has a specific set of usage guidelines that must be followed precisely. However, botanical supplements offer a consumer more latitude to personalize their serving size. Our CBD products include a range of serving sizes to help each individual find the best amount for their needs on any given day. CBD’s effects vary greatly from person to person, so there’s no “one serving fits all” approach. You can safely and effectively adjust your intake to yield the best results.

What Determines How Much CBD A Person Needs
The optimum daily amount varies by person and by day. Appropriate serving sizes vary widely because how much CBD you should take depends upon reasons a person is taking CBD, as well as their weight, metabolism and body chemistry.
Some people respond almost immediately to CBD; others notice effects after a couple of days of regular use. This can also depend on the quality of the product. Ours are always independently tested to ensure what is listed on the label is what you get from each product.
“Third party testing is critical,” said Justin Amesbury, Senior Director of Research and Development at Lazarus Naturals. “It gives the end user the best possible peace of mind that the product they are relying on has been independently verified to have the concentration of each active ingredient specified. This allows for reliable and consistent usage when trying a new product formula, or simply ordering a new batch of the same formula.”

Individual Effects, Customized Servings
Take our CBD tinctures for example. Our recommended serving sizes vary based on whether someone takes full-spectrum extract or CBD isolate. To find the amount of full-spectrum CBD that’s right for you, we suggest starting with 50 mg. Then, after two hours have passed, you can increase your serving size as needed. For the isolate, most people start with 150 mg.
You might find that on a “good” day, you only need the lower amount. On your “hard” days, you might need more. CBD empowers you to take control of your health and your recovery, by personalizing your serving size.
“After testing different [serving sizes] to suit my needs I have discovered that 250-300 mg is truly a very effective [serving size] to enhance relaxation and calm,” says customer Ali K.
Finding that sweet spot with your serving size – enough to deliver relief but not too much – can also help you budget for your monthly CBD. That doesn’t always mean using more. Some people do better with less.
With our CBD Muscle Gel, Anna M. says that she finds “using a little bit helps it to absorb better into the skin.”
What is an Average Serving Size for Beginners?
Always refer to the label on your CBD product before determining your serving size. Here are some general guidelines we use:
Capsules and softgels: Start with 50 mg (1-2 capsules, depending on what potency you choose). Wait two hours before taking more as needed. Maintain this serving size for a couple of days, then add more as desired. You may find 150-200 mg per day is ideal.
Tinctures: We offer both high and standard potency tinctures. As with capsules and softgels, start with 50 mg, then wait two hours. The dropper is marked to show you exactly how to measure out the ideal serving size.
Edibles: The standard 50 mg starter serving size applies to gummies and mints, too. Wait two hours before assessing whether you would like to take more.
Topicals: If you’re using a product externally, like a balm, salve or oil, you have the advantage of delivering targeted care for a specific body part. We suggest starting with 1 teaspoon once a day, but you may find that you feel best when applying several teaspoons a few times a day.
CBD is plant medicine – and we’ve seen how it works! By allowing each customer to personalize their delivery method, serving size and frequency of use, we believe they can feel empowered to take back control of their health.
