Which is better, CBD tinctures or capsules?

Tinctures, capsules and softgels are among the most popular ways of taking CBD. Both are available in many different potencies and offer additional benefits when combined with functional ingredients. Understandably, that can be overwhelming.

Here’s an overview of both tinctures and capsules/softgels to help comfortably and effectively add CBD to your way of life.

How CBD products are made

At Lazarus Naturals, we formulate our CBD products utilizing either “full spectrum” extract or isolated CBD. The main difference between the two being: “full spectrum” refers to an extract which contains CBD in conjunction with the other hemp derivatives and compounds in as close to their natural proportions as possible; and, “isolate” refers to CBD isolated from all other compounds found in the hemp plant. Both begin with an ethanol extraction process and isolate requires more refinement steps. At Lazarus Naturals, we make both full spectrum and isolate tinctures, capsules, pet products and a complete line of topicals including body & massage oil, balms and lotions

What Are CBD Tinctures?

Tinctures are one of the most traditional vehicles for taking CBD. They are a liquid form of a plant, supplement, or remedy. In our case, the CBD is separated from hemp using an ethanol extraction process. Our tinctures are all oil-based. Once purchased, tinctures typically last one to two years.

The benefits of CBD tinctures

With CBD tinctures, you can easily customize your serving. This is especially helpful early on in your CBD journey when you’re searching for the right balance. Tinctures taken sublingually may absorb more quickly than simple ingestion as there may be transmission through the capillary-rich areas under the tongue, bypassing the digestive system and liver.

Flavored tinctures like Blood Orange, French Vanilla and Standard Potency full spectrum tincture pair well with food and beverages like soups, pasta, coffee, tea and smoothies. Check out some of the delicious ways you can match Lazarus Naturals tinctures with your favorite foods!

How to use tinctures

With CBD tinctures, you can adjust the serving size using a graduated dropper. Our droppers are clearly marked in 0.25/ml increments. We recommend starting with 50mg, waiting two hours, and working your way up from there. Over a period of days or even weeks, increase the amount of CBD to find a daily routine that works for you. Take a serving to get you going or at the end of the day to support restful sleep.

Our tinctures typically contain twice the amount of CBD for half the price of our competition because we often hear from our customers that once they found the right amount for them, they were able to more fully experience the benefits of CBD. It’s just one of the many ways we make CBD that’s accessible for all who need it.

What are CBD capsules and softgels?

Capsules and softgels are made with either full spectrum extract or CBD isolate. Once dried, all the ingredients are carefully packed into the capsules and softgels to ensure consolidated and precise servings. To keep tight control on our quality, we carefully formulate our CBD capsules in-house.

The benefits of CBD capsules and softgels

Convenience and the precision of a serving are a big reason for choosing capsules. If you already take a multivitamin, adding CBD capsules or softgels to what you’re taking is an easy way to start and/or end the day.

How to take capsules and softgels

If you’re new to CBD, we recommend starting with our 25mg option. Our recommended serving size is 50mg, or two capsules/softgels. Wait two hours and increase the serving until you have reached the desired effect. You can also switch to more potent options or try CBD with functional ingredients like Rhodiola and caffeine to support energy or a combination of Ashwagandha and L-Tryptophan help you relax in the evening.

Choosing high quality CBD tinctures and capsules

When choosing any CBD product, it’s important to research the company. At Lazarus Naturals, we do it all. From our farm to your front door, aside from the delivery truck. That’s how we are able to deliver consistent, high-quality and effective products. There’s no secret to our approach. From the organic hemp we farm to our ever-growing family of products, we focus on consistency and sustainability. As pioneers in the CBD industry, we’ve learned how to do things right and make it our mission to pass that on to you by keeping prices down and potency high.

All Lazarus Naturals products undergo third-party testing to ensure quality, safety, and consistency. Test results can be viewed by clicking the Test Results tab on each individual product page on our website.

Talk With Your Doctor

We always recommend consulting with your doctor before trying CBD. They can discuss correct serving sizes and benefits with you, as well as identify how CBD might interact with any medications you’re currently taking.

Which form of CBD is right for me?

In terms of effectiveness, both CBD capsules/softgels and tinctures offer the same benefits. It’s a matter of preference and how fast you feel the results. Both methods are available in many different potencies, flavors and tailored benefits. Much depends on your lifestyle, your comfort level and your reason for choosing CBD.

Take your time finding a routine and serving size that works for you and your body. Tinctures are versatile and allow for nuanced serving sizes. Capsules and softgels are convenient and precise.
